Quads

Don’t hand them the win

Every piece you hand your rival could be their winning move.

16 unique pieces across four traits — tall or short, dark or light, round or square, solid or hollow. Line up four that share one trait, or corner a 2×2 square of them, and you win.

The twist

You never place a piece you chose yourself — your opponent hands it to you. The whole game is in what you dare to give away.

1

Get handed a piece

Your rival picks it. Whatever lands in your hand, you must play it.

2

Place it

Find the square where it helps you — or at least doesn’t hand them the game.

3

Hand one back

Now choose their piece. Don’t gift the win — spot the trap the move before they spring it.

What’s in the box

No sign-up. No timers. No pressure to spend. Just a clean, replayable game of “give them the piece they can’t use.”

Five AI levels

Climb from Rookie to Grandmaster — beat the Master to unlock the top rank.

Pass & play

No account, no wifi, no wait — hand the phone to a friend for a full match.

Daily puzzle

One fresh brain-bender a day — solve it in the fewest moves, then send it to a friend.

Challenge a friend

Share a short code and race the same puzzle — codes work fully offline.

8 languages

Play in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, or Chinese.

iPhone & iPad

A layout tuned for big screens too — the board grows with your device.

Frequently asked questions

How many players is Quads for?

One or two. Play solo against five AI difficulty levels (Rookie through Grandmaster), or pass the phone back and forth for a full local two-player match — no account or second device needed.

Do I need an internet connection to play?

No. The AI, pass-and-play, the daily puzzle, and challenge codes all run entirely on your device. Quads has no servers and no accounts.

What is the daily puzzle?

One new hand-crafted board position every day, solvable in one or two precise moves. Everyone sees the same puzzle on the same calendar day, and you can share your move count as a challenge code.

Can I play against a friend remotely?

Not as live networked multiplayer. Challenge a Friend lets you share a short text code for a puzzle position — your friend enters it on their own device and tries to beat your move count, fully offline.

What languages does Quads support?

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, and Chinese, following your device's language setting.

Is Quads free?

Yes — the full game is free to download and play. An optional one-time purchase removes ads, and a separate optional purchase unlocks two cosmetic board themes.
